Project Isizwe, rolled out free wifi in the city of Tshwane and already 600 000+ users are using the service. We tried it and its awesome and E-afford is excited about the opportunities that will open up with the use of the free wifi.
It means we don’t have to worry about getting people online but about creating a unique experience for our users, an unmatchable value proposition and providing digital tools to help students plan, afford and ace their grades.
In his interview with CNBCAfrica’s Power Lunch about a week ago, the former Chief Executive of Mxit, Allan Knott Jr mentioned their hopes to replicate the model in other African states and with SADC being the easiest to enter.
He also said that we should just open up the wifi to poor communities across Africa and help them access information and wait and see the results that would come out of that. We share his sentiments and dreams and we believe the initiative will give a lot of young people an opportunity to change their worlds And to dream even more.
